What will I gain from volunteering with your organisation?

Volunteering can be a rewarding experience and there are many different reasons why you may choose to volunteer with us. You may want to learn more about how you can campaign to protect animals, you may be looking to increase your confidence and better your social skills or you may be looking to build your experience for paid employment. Whatever your reason, we welcome people from all walks of life, of all ages, who have a genuine interest in making the world a better place for our furry friends. By becoming a volunteer you will also be entitled to a 10% discount on all of our merchandise!

How do I apply to be a volunteer?

Firstly, you will need to fill in an application form. You can contact us to request one. Once your application has been received and your suitability assessed, our volunteer coordinator will contact you to arrange an informal interview. At the interview, you will be able to tell us a bit about yourself, why you would like to volunteer with us and what you hope to gain from volunteering. This will allow the volunteer coordinator to assign you to a project that suits your skills, and interests, if possible.

What support is available?

Before you undertake any project or attend any kind of event on behalf of us, our volunteer coordinator will take you though what you have been asked to do step by step. This person will always be available to you for help and support and should be your first point of contact if you come across any difficulties in your volunteering position.

Are expenses paid?

Travel and food expenses are provided for. You will be able to reclaim travel costs and up to £3 can be provided for lunchtime meals on approval of receipts.
