Christmas presentI love the festive season! I love the sparkle of fairy lights, the buzz of late night shopping, mulled wine and mince pies, falling snowflakes and l love the enchanting aromas of cinnamon and gingerbread that are always so prominent at this time of year – or is that just my Starbucks soy latte?

In my first post to you all, I wanted to tell you a little bit about how I will be playing my part in OneKind Christmas by making animal friendly choices when shopping.

First on my Christmas to-do list is cards. This year, I don’t have to look very far as our OneKind shop has two gorgeous designs available – the beautiful, though heavily persecuted, grey squirrel and the adorable Gus, fashioning a snow-beard! Too cute! Add to shopping basket.

Next up, gifts. My mum will tell you, with much pain in her voice, how much I love spending money, but I love spending money on other people even more! Featuring in our new OneKind shop next week will be a number of companies selling a selection of animal-free goodies – from skincare to handbags to chocolate – and we have managed to wangle some rather appealing discounts especially for you!

Ooh, and did you know that we are an Amazon Associate? Just follow the link in our OneKind shop and purchase to your heart’s desire and when you hit the checkout a percentage of the profits come to us. Fabulous!

Not forgetting the love of my life, Buster, a very handsome Staffordshire bull terrier. Shopping for him is easy – I’ll be making a trip to one of Edinburgh’s very cool animal-less pet shops, the Just Dog Shop, to pick him up his favourite treats, veggie pigs ears. This trendy little shop hosts a whole selection of yummy veggie treats for our beloved doggies. Add to shopping basket.

I do have to confess to another love however ... FOOD. This Christmas I will be munching on the scrumptious Redwood Wholefood Company’s Cheating Roast Turkey. Combined with the Redwood rasher wrapped sausages, a dollop of cranberry, selection of veg, roast potatoes and gravy, equals the most perfect veggie Christmas dinner.

To end, I wanted to let you know about my all time favourite treat at this time of year - Lush’s Snow Fairy shower gel. It smells so delicious that it has the potential to fool you into thinking it’s edible – unfortunately it’s not, and this top cult product is only available at Christmas time. Add to Santa’s sack.
